Research group ACRO at KU Leuven Campus Diepenbeek has many years of experience in the research domains of automation, computer vision and robotics.
As part of the Faculty of Engineering Technology, ACRO focuses on the translation of fundamental research into prototypes with a higher Technology Readiness Level for Flemish companies, as evidenced by the many industrial reserach oriented (e.g. TETRA, ICON, O&O...) projects in which ACRO has already participated, as well as several SME innovation projects and feasibility studies.
The investigated technologies have a wide application domain ranging from manufacturing, assembly, logistics, agriculture, healthcare, construction, domestic up to end-of-life-treatment and nucleair environments.
An overview of the current ACRO research lines is provided below.
