European Master of Science in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition
The Master of Science in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition (SefoTech.Nut) has operated for 12 years between 2005 and 2016. From academic year 2015/2016 a new name has been applied, Master of Science in Food Science, Technology and Business (BiFTec). Following, to address modern and currently emerging food safety and environmental issues, the programme has further evolved and as from 2020/2021 is entitled Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems Engineering, Technology and Business (BiFTec-FOOD4S) .

Aim of the programme
To foster and develop knowledge and awareness of scientific trends and health issues in food science, technology and nutrition in a global context. In addition, the course seeks to enhance student's professional competence in areas such as safety, management and ethics.

The Master's programme is organised in a modular format and consists of:
- six compulsory core modules
- four optional modules
- the professional competence semester and the Master's thesis
Career prospects
The Sefotech.nut general course aims are targeting on preparing competent academics for the sector of food production and processing and the herewith linked service sectors.
Approximately 90% of the graduates are getting full employment resulting from an ample number of job applications and within a reasonable application time of six months. The academic level of the Master’s course is being proved by the ability of approximately 10% of graduates who continue their studies at third level making a PhD.
Alumni
Admission requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc., B.Tech., B.Eng., etc.) or a degree at the level of a Bachelor's degree in relevant subjects such as Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Food Science and Technology, Nutrition or Engineering or cognate subject area.
- Internationally recognized English language certificate (e.g. TOEFL 550/213/79 or IELTS score 6.5) is obligatory.
A joint degree
The joint degree has been granted EU support under the Erasmus Mundus programme since 2005 till 2016. The Consortium of the four European partner universities jointly have committed themselves to each offering part of the curriculum.
