Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering Technology
Each year, the Faculty of Engineering Technology welcomes more than 100 incoming Erasmus and exchange students. With 145+ collaboration agreements and 850+ international students in total, we offer our students a unique experience in a real international environment!
Student exchange @FET
When coming to the Faculty of Engineering Technology for an exchange, there is a variety of campuses and courses to choose from.
In addition to choosing courses, you can also opt to do your bachelor project or Master’s thesis at one of the campuses.
- This implies that a supervisor will be allocated to your project who will provide you with research instructions and feedback throughout the project.
- You should indicate in the learning agreement whether you wish to take the full bachelor project or master’s thesis (including presentation) or only the project research.
Nomination and application deadline
The admission procedure consists of two phases:
- Nomination
The exchange coordinator at your home institution nominates the student to FET KU Leuven. - Online application
Afterwards, the student submits their online application to KU Leuven- Application deadlines
- 30 April - for exchange in 1st semester or full academic year
- 1 October - for exchange in 2nd semester

Attention choose the right campus!
In the Attachments section, you will need to upload the following documents:
- Scan of passport or id card
- Transcript of Records (of previous studies)
- Proposal for Learning Agreement
The processing of your application can take up to eight weeks.
Course offer
If you decide to apply for an exchange period, you will have to pick some courses and add them to your Learning Agreement.
