Aim of the programme   A joint degree
To foster and develop knowledge and awareness of scientific trends and health issues in food science, technology and business in a global context. In addition, the course seeks to enhance student's professional competence in areas such as safety, management and ethics.  

The Consortium of the three European partner universities jointly have committed themselves to each offering part of the curriculum. A joint degree is awarded to all graduating students.

Additionally to the three European consortium partners, the study programme also benefits from the involvement of associated partners, who contribute through knowledge and skills transfer, the provisions and backing possibilities for professional competence module and/or Master's thesis.

Career prospects      

The European Master of Science in Food Science, Technology and Business (BIFTEC) general course aims are targeting on preparing competent academics for the sector of food production and processing and the herewith linked service sectors.

Approximately 90% of the graduates of the preceding SEFOTECH.NUT course run from 2006 till 2016 are getting full employment resulting from an ample number of job applications and within a reasonable application time of six months. The academic level of the Master’s course is being proved by the ability of approximately 10% of graduates who continue their studies at third level making a PhD.

 

The development of a joint curriculum for BIFTEC programme took place during implementation of the previous project European Master of Food Science, Technology and Nutrition (SEFOTECH.NUT) run under Erasmus Mundus framework: 2005-2011 and 2010-2016.
